Libby Vermiculite and Death From Cardiovascular Disease
While examining the effect of cumulative fiber exposure on lung cancer and mesothelioma among Libby, MT vermiculite workers researchers from the ATSDR noticed dose related increase in deaths from cardiovascular disease. Using a "within-cohort comparison" they were able to demonstrate a significant dose response relationship at or above 44.0 f/cc years.
